SELF- RELIANT INDIA IN A COVID- 19 RIDDEN WORLD

INTRODUCTION:

India as self-reliant is quite similar to have been involved in globalization. Forbes has considered India as the worst-hit economy nation in 42 years. He also questioned the same to Prime Minister regarding the same. The economy has slowed down not only due to lockdown but also due to certain reforms that were introduced earlier. India needs about 9% growth over five years to achieve a $5 trillion economies. This came into effect in January 2020 even before the lockdown came into effect. Prime Minister also lowered down India’s GDP growth to 0 in 2021. All this was the state of our country before the lockdown came into effect.

ACTION WILL GET SOMEWHERE, NOT EMPTY PROMISES:

It is found that the economy goes downhill treated well. The great depression of 1929 was due to worker’s exploitation. The higher class supplied the cheap goods by reducing the cost of goods that were produced. The income of workers got reduced. Most of the workers didn’t buy the goods because of the lack of income. As a result of it, the higher classes got bankrupt because of zero income. The term self-reliant was based on 5 strong pillars. Even the biggest company Jio cannot work without the silicon technology of the Chinese. Self- reliant India is very funny if proper measures and steps are not taken and do not feel that some sort of external help is also needed. There is a need for the citizens to be self-reliant. The citizens of the country should be self-reliant and independent in India and should have a minimum standard of living and food for themselves. For the self-reliance India there was the introduction of a slogan, Be Vocal For Local. Prime Minister also tried to increase the supply of goods and promote local commodities. By such methods, the economic condition of the Indians will increase. The concept of globalization and liberalization was not given much importance. The modern capitalist society was running on the integration of our economy with the world economy. The countries also need to be dependent on each other for the welfare of society. Cross-border trade with import and export is one of the most important factors of GDP.
The concept of meditation also came before the formation of the country. However, these were mere facts, not any empty statements being made unlike how the nation was addressed.
The idea of introducing a relief package with 10% of GDP was a huge lie in itself.

Between March 27 and April 13, 100% of the migrant workers in Uttar Pradesh did not get any ration, 64% didn’t get cooked meals. In Maharashtra, 99% didn’t get any ration, while 58% didn’t get any food.
If such is the truth of India then yes India is absolutely self-reliant and yes we can sustain ourselves. People will die of no money, people will die due to hunger, people will die of trains running over them. That’s why proper and concrete measures must be taken.

Prime Minister introduced that five I’s are important to make India self-reliant. These were intent, inclusion, investment, infrastructure, and innovation which are of utmost importance to make India self-reliant. Highlighting the recent announcement made under the economic package Rs 21 lakh crore, the Prime Minister said that the government is taking steps to improve the condition as Indians had given hopes. Modi also gave the assurance that the government will give full support to the industry and also it was not difficult to get the growth back as now the industry has given a clear path towards a self-reliant India.

CONCLUSION:

The government also introduced various reforms in different sectors such as labor reforms, agriculture reforms, allowing private companies in strategic sectors, commercial mining of coals, etc. by such measures it was expected that the economy of India will be more inclined towards growth.
Self- reliant India is about establishing strong enterprises, generating employment, and empowering people. India must make products for the world and cut its imports.
