ABSTRACT
Technology is advancing into many sectors of our lives, it makes information more accessible and it is improving communication, changing transportation and the list goes on but as we all enjoy the advancement of technologies today, we can ignore the fact that even though it has positive effects, there’s still a negative outcome to the environment. There is an environmental technology known as green or clean technology which aim to conserve and monitor the impact of human activities on environment which includes pollution, resource depletion and climate change. The agriculture revolution marked a major turning point in the evolution of technology human began to cultivate crops and raise livestock, the development of irrigation system also helps for the expansion of agriculture technology. The industrial revolution also improves the technology, machines and factories were introduced for the mass production of goods and shift from human labor to machine bases production. This revolution transformed the way of goods were produced and distributed. The digital revolution has also had a profound impact on business and commerce, e-commerce has transformed the way we shop and do business it making impossible to and sell goods and services online basis. on the one hand, technology has brought great benefits to our society. It has enabled us to connect with people from all over the world, to assess information instantly, and to automate many of our daily tasks, making our lives more convenient and efficient on the other hand technology has also had some negative impact on society. It has to lead a rise in social separation, because people spend more time on their devices and less interacting with others and it also create a new form of mental health challenges and addiction. Moreover, technology has raised concerns about privacy and ethical use of data there are growing concerns about the misuse of personal data.

INTRODUCTION
When we think of technology like a telephone, a camera but what about table or chair is that technology. Technology are the things which are created by humans that can makes our lives easier or solve problems, so technology are really just ideas and concept behind the tools which we often associate. In today’s world we tend to equate the word technology is any device or tool that’s new or interesting but probably not the best way to think about it. When we talk about gadgets, we are really talking about applied technology they are the tools.
In only the shorter decades, the innovation of the technology has changed every aspect of human life. It played a pivotal role in growing the modern world. The early days of technology characterized by simple tools such as wheel, fire, and stone, Axe. These tools used for basic task such as hunting, transportation and construction over time as civilizations developed and grew so did the need for more sophisticated tools and technology like the invention of the wheels made it easier for the people to transport goods and travel from one place to another the use of fire allow people to cook food, the invention of writing allow people to record and share information leading to the development of early civilization and the creation of written records of human history leading to improvements agriculture and warfare.

The digital revolution marked another major turning point in the evolution of technology with the introduction of computers and the internet, in the mid-20th century with the invention of the first computer known as ENIAC which is used for complex combinations, the internet which was developed in the late 20th century has transform the way we communicate and access information in the form of email and instant messaging the digital revolution profound impact on business and e-commerce which make possible to buy and sell goods and services online.
The rise of artificial intelligence and the internet of things the creation of computer system that are capable of doing activities that would require human intellect like identifying pattern making predictions and solving problem.
A society consists of people who share a territory, who interact with each other and who shares a culture, postindustrial societies depend on specialized knowledge to bring about continuing progress in technology, the computer and biotech industrial are integral part of postindustrial society. The economy of postindustrial societies depends on well-educated population the economies of post-industrial societies are service oriented and more than half of the United States work is involved in service occupations. They are wealthier than agricultural societies and they have a greater sense of individualism and a smaller extent of inequality that still remains substantial.
In present time, people are relying on the technology, without the technology, people can’t imagine their life. The technology is very important and useful in all field of the human life. It has changed the way of human lives. Technology has modified the communication field and the transportation, which makes our lives easier and comfortable.
Technology has shaped our lives so easy and provided so many comforts to us that we could never have imagined in the past. technology plays very important role in all areas like transportation field, communication field, connectivity, education and health areas.
However, increasing technology is also having adverse effect on the environment and social environment. Environment technology has both positive and negative impact on the environment. On one hand, innovations in renewable energy and green technology have the potential to mitigate the effects of climate change. On the other hand, the production and disposal of electronic devices can lead to environmental population.
As higher personal data is stored online, there are worry about security and privacy. Cyberattacks and data breaches can lead to identity and financial loss, and surveillance technologies can be used to violate privacy rights. 20% Indian users fell victim to cyber threats in the first quarter of 2024.
Advantages of technology on society:
- Improve through communication technology.
- Easier to shop for products and services by online shopping.
- Change in area of living.
- Change in field of education.
Disadvantage of technology on society:
- Some people will be facing stress and depression because of cyberbullying.
- Securities breaches mean risk losing data to hackers or viruses.
- Pirating.
- Increasing pollution.
- Problem of unemployment.
- Misuse of time
Security and data breach are the major risks of losing data in the field of technology. In India, the most common attack type is Phishing. In a case, X vs. Union of India, where the photographs were taken from a girl’s Instagram handle without her consent and used those photographs elsewhere which was a breach of privacy.

This research paper is explanatory in nature and it is based on secondary sources for wide analysis of the impact of technology on society, Secondary sources like journal, textbooks, analyses, articles and newspapers.
REVIEW OF LITERATURE
The advent of the technology has profound effects on the society which influence the economic structures, social interactions, cultural norms and even individual psychology. From the Industrial Revolution to the current digital age, the technological advancement has continuously reshaped how the societies operate and how individuals live their life. This paper aims to synthesize existing research on the impact of the technology on the society, exploring various dimensions including the economic effects, social and cultural transformations, psychological implications and ethical considerations. This paper focused on understanding the complex and often paradoxical nature of the progress of the technology and its societal consequences.
Impact of technology on the economy: the innovation of the technology has historical been a key driver of the economic growth. The invention of the mechanized manufacturing process during the Industrial revolution and at present, the advancements of the Information technology and Automation, have rapidly boosted the productivity. According to McAfee (2014), “the digital technologies like, Artificial Intelligence and the machine learning are the central to the contemporary economic expansion which enhance the efficiency and create new markets.”
As per Mr. Mokyr, the benefits of these technologies are not evenly distributed and often favoring to the highly skilled workers.
The relationship between the technology and the employment is complex. While the technological advancements have led to creation of new jobs. The technology replaced the workers.There is the growing demand for high-skill and low-skill jobs, but decline in adapting the educational and training systems for preparing the workers for this evolving market and identify the need of the framework and policies which reduce the negative impacts of AI. There is the gap between those who have access to such digital technologies and those who don’t. Access to the technology is often limited by factors like income, education and geographic location which results in unequal opportunities for participation in the digital economy and access to the information.
Social and cultural impact of technology: the rise of the technology including the social media which transformed the social interactions and communication patterns. This also creates a global network of communication. These technologies facilitate the new forms of social engagement and community building. This also impact on face-to-face interactions which decline the quality of social relationships and will increase the isolation feelings. The increase in the digitalization of daily life has brought the concern relating to the privacy and surveillance. Where the question arises about the use of personal data and potential abuse by both the corporations and the Governments.
The technology also brings the changes in the cultural practices and lifestyles. The transition from the traditional media to the digital platforms has changed how people consume the content and social media become the dominant form of the entertainment and news consumption.
Psychological impact of technology: the impact of technology on mental health is the area to grow the concern. The excessive use of social media can lead to negative metal health outcomes, including anxiety and depression, especially among adolescents who are often the most active users of these platforms. The FOMO, a common experience among the social media users which can further contribute to the feelings of dissatisfaction and anxiety. However, it is important to note that the technology also has the potential to positively impact the mental health such as proving the platforms related to the mental health support and access to the resources. For instance, the mental health apps and online counseling service offer convenient and support which makes easier for individuals to seek help. These tools (digital) can also promote the peer support networks, where individuals can share their experiences and coping strategies.
The psychological impact of technology is thus complex which encompasses both risks and benefits. The key to mitigating the negative effects and maximize the positive outcome lie in using the technology in balanced and mindful way, particularly among the children and adolescents includes healthy digital habits, fostering the critical thinking skills and providing education regarding digital literacy and mental health awareness.

Technology is impacting everywhere and there are both positive and negative aspect of technology in human life, technology is expanding as the time passes. People are not interacting with each other personally, people became so lazy and they are becoming more dependable on technology such as computer, phones, artificial intelligence social media. Social media is very good platform to gain information, knowledge, news etc. but it does not mean people became fully dependent on it, sometimes people have to explore new thing, go to art galleries, libraries and other places.
Secondly, there are many digital platforms which provide online education which make knowledge more accessible to all people, the traditional teaching method shift toward digital learning technology provides easy to access information, advance learning and fun opportunities to practice and to seek new subjects and understanding of new theories, thoughts, view, concepts. Student have access to unlimited resources for research and learning about particular subject.
The Technology has revolutionized the communication, breaking down the barriers of time and distance. The internet and instant messaging platforms have made easier for connecting with people around the whole world, now the time has transformed the way we connect with our friends, family, colleagues. The use of technology is to save time the saved time can be used for other important activities like cooking, cleaning, walking, exercising however today world has become closer and one can communicate with a person sitting in another corner of the world. Technology has revolutionized healthcare improved patient care and saving lives medical advances such as telemedicine, electronic health records, wearable devices have transformed health delivery which enable more consultations personalized treatment and early detection of disease.
So, we needed to experience more technology in our lifetime as technological revolution progressed around the world there is a need to develop better use of technology in good way. But excess use of technology has a negative effect on mental health, technological advances have raised ethical dilemmas with which society must grapple, issues such as algorithmic bias, AI ethics autonomous weapons require careful consideration and regulation ensuring the central use of technology is essential to protect human rights, privacy and social well-being as we use the technology in our lifestyle. privacy can become a big issue keeping personal information and data secure is very important, raise of significant concern about privacy and security, data breach identity, theft and the surveillance risks to the personal and the corporate use of data by the technology companies have sparked.

The efficiency of tasks has increased and this is the reason why the technology is quickly replacing the humans. So, people have to aware about the advancement of their knowledge in this field so that they can grab all opportunities. One of the biggest cons of technology is that it can only be used by those who can afford it. As global citizens, it is the responsibility to allow certain technologies into our lives.

It made the education more accessible and has opened up opportunities for people who may have previously faced barriers to learning, healthcare technology has also had a significant impact on healthcare. Technology made it easier for people to access medical care which has improved the outcomes for the patients. It also made it easier for the health care providers for sharing the information and collaborate with patient care, which lead to better outcomes for the patients.

We live in many ways from communication and connectivity to the workplace, education and healthcare, it has opened up new opportunities and made our lives easier and more convenient. However, it is important to acknowledge the drawback and ethical concerns thar come with technology and ensure that we use it in a responsible and sustainable manner.
